The Peruvian sport Paleta Fronton was developed in Lima in the mid 1940s to 50s. It is similar to tennis, because it is played with a racket on a court, but players hit a rubber ball in front of a concrete wall that measures 5 feet by 6 feet. Although the sport was created in Peru, it is now played around the world. The first International Paleta Fronton Tournament will be played in Costa Rica starting October 13th. Argentina, Venezuela, USA, Costa Rica and Peru will compete over the course of five days during this competition. Go Peru!
