Each time I visit Peru, I am delighted to find new things in the marketplace. I could spend several hours looking at everything from alpaca yarn and clothing to hand-carved wood crafts to the extremely soft Peruvian cotton that is now in demand around the world. But of course, my favorite part is finding new handcrafted jewelry designs to add to the Tikanchay collection. On my most recent trip, I chose a selection of beautiful butterfly jewelry, like the handcrafted earrings pictured here. The array of colors in Peruvian butterfly jewelry reinforces the beauty of Peru’s landscape, particularly in the exotic Peruvian rainforest where these wings are found. I love the idea of preserving these delicate butterflies in pieces of keepsake jewelry. I find that butterfly earrings also make a fantastic gift.
